Prof. Gang Zhang

Biography: Gang Zhang has been a Full Professor at the Research Center of Satellite Technology, Harbin Institute of Technology since 2019. He received the B.S. degree from the School of Mathematics at Jilin University, Changchun, China, in 2007, and the Ph.D. degree in Aerospace Engineering from Harbin Institute of Technology, Harbin, China, in 2012. He was a Visiting Scholar at the Department of Aerospace Engineering, Texas A&M University from 2009 to 2010.His research areas are orbit dynamics and control, trajectory optimization, and uncertainty analysis. He has published more than 50 journal papers as the first/corresponding author, including 15 papers in JGCD and IEEE TAES. He received the National Excellent Doctoral Dissertation Award in Aerospace Engineering, and several Science and Technology Awards in provincial and ministerial level. He won the Champion of the 10th China Trajectory Optimization Competition as the Team Leader. Now He serves as the Associate Editor of IEEE Transactions on Aerospace and Electronic Systems, and the editorial board of several international journals. He participated in several satellite missions, including the world’s first microsatellite (Longjiang-2) to complete Earth-to-Moon transfer, near-moon braking, and circumlunar flight.
Prof. Bing Li

Biography: Dr. Bing Li is currently a professor in the School of Aeronautics at Northwestern Polytechnical University (NPU). He joined NPU as an Associate Professor in Fall 2018. Since May 2021, he has been promoted to a full-time Professor. He conducted his Post-Doctoral training in 2015-2018 at The University of Akron (Akron, US), working with Prof. K.T. Tan in the area of mechanical/elastic/acoustic metamaterials. He received his Joint-Supervision Ph.D. training in the School of AMME at The University of Sydney (Sydney, Australia) in 2013-2014, working in Prof. Lin Ye's research group, in the area of structural health monitoring (SHM) and damage identification. He earned his Ph.D. in the College of Engineering at Peking University (Beijing, China) in 2015, working with Prof. Zheng Li in the area of damage detection and identification using typical nondestructive testing & evaluation (NDT&E) methods. He received his B.Eng. from Harbin Engineering University (Harbin, China) in 2009. Dr. Li's primary research interests lie in the field of elastic, acoustic, mechanical metamaterials, wave propagation and vibration control, SHM and NDT&E.
Dr. Li has published over 60 research articles in top-tier peer-reviewed journals and major international conferences. He is an active journal reviewer (over 30 international journals). He is also a member of The Acoustical Society of America (ASA), American Society for Composites (ASC), American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA), and International Photonic Society (IPS).
Prof. Vijay Kumar Thaku

Biography: Professor in New Products from Biomass, Agriculture & Business Management, Biorefining and Advanced Materials Research Centre.Previously held faculty positions at Cranfield University UK, Washington State University USA, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, and LHU–Taiwan. He did his Post-Doctoral study in Materials Science & Engineering at Iowa State University and received a PhD in Polymer Science (2009).
In his academic career, he has published more than 250 SCI journal research articles and holds one United States patent. Among these, 25 of his research papers have been highlighted as "Highly Cited Papers" in Web of Science (less than 1% of published papers receive this ranking) while 5 papers have been highlighted as "Hot Papers" (Hot papers are selected by virtue of being cited among the top one-tenth of one percent -0.1%) in a current bimonthly period in Web of Science).
He has also published 50 books and 40 book chapters on the advanced state-of-the-art of polymer science/materials science/ biorefining/ nanotechnology. Vijay is an editorial board member of several international journals (including Nature Scientific Reports, Industrial Crops and Products, Surface and Interfaces, Nano-Structures & Nano-Objects, Polymers for Advanced Technologies) as well as a member of scientific bodies around the globe. He also sits on grant review panels for governmental agencies and educational institutions in the UK, USA, Germany, Poland, Austria, Singapore, Portugal, Chile, Cyprus, UAE, Kazakhstan, South Africa, and India.
